The public record information viewed on Courtview 2000 reflects the docket entries and information required by Ohio law to be kept by the Allen County Clerk of Courts. There will be a delay between court filings and judicial action and the posting of such data by the Clerk of Courts for some or all of the filings types. The information posted is believed to be accurate, however accuracy is not guaranteed. Court records prior to 12/1/1988 are not available on Courtview 2000. However they may appear as history. History case information is only availabe in the office of the Allen County Clerk of Courts.
When searching information in Courtview 2000, enter Name OR Case Number, however, not simultaneously. This system functions best when using caps lock, and following the standard abbreviations listed below. When searching Company Names enter search criteria in the Company Name field. If the name of the company begins with “The” use the next name in the title; i.e. ABC CO,THE. Do not use punctuation except for commas in the Company Name field. When searching individual using Last Name field you must enter at lease one character in the First Name field. Cases prior to 6/1/2000 must be searched using “last name, comma, first name (no spaces)” in the Company Name field.
Personal indentifiers are not included as search parameters in the indices of the Clerks docket, though they must be kept in the public case file folder and are often included as content in the journal orders of the court. These journals are available as public record in the office of the Clerk of Courts pursuant to O.R.C. 2303-12 and Ohio Rules of Superintendence R 26.
