The Judge of the Juvenile Court acts as
his own Clerk of Courts. This means that the Judge assumes
responsibility for the filing of complaints and other pleadings,
as well as collection of court costs and fines. The Clerk's
Office also operates the Juvenile Traffic Bureau, which
permits a juvenile to waive appearance in court on certain
enumerated offenses upon entering a written admission and
payment of fines.
In addition to overseeing the filing of
documents with the Court, the Clerk's Office collects data
in order to report to the Supreme Court of Ohio regarding
the Court's docket and other activities. Further, the Clerk's
Office is responsible for scheduling all court hearings,
and must ensure that matters are disposed of in certain
time periods in compliance with the Rules of Superintendence
adopted by the Supreme Court of the State of Ohio.
